Scott Weberpal
Hey severe weather enthusiasts! I’m Scott Weberpal and I began my storm chasing journey in 1998 when an F2 tornado touched down just west of Janesville, WI, which I was lucky enough to witness. Not only was that my first tornado, but I instinctively drove toward the tornado, stopping about a mile from it to view it in all its glory. My interest in severe weather spans practically as far as I can remember. As a young child I was terrified to severe weather yet mystified by its power and glory at the same time. As I grew older my fear grew into a pure love and respect of severe weather which led me to using my parents full-size VHS camcorder to film storms as they rolled across the prairie where I grew up.
I began making yearly trips to the great plains every year since 2000, and since then have seen and/or documented nearly 100 tornadoes. From 2004-2008 I worked for Tempest Tours as a tour guide, taking people from all over the world on storm chasing adventures. I am also an accomplished videographer with my severe weather videos being seen all around the world, and in the US on virtually every major cable news and weather network, and in numerous documentaries and TV programs including Discovery Channel’s hit series “Storm Chasers”.
Please feel free to visit my website at http://www.tornadofx.com – and I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm for severe weather with all of you, and hope you thoroughly enjoy reading my posts and viewing my pictures and videos.
